Join the Claremont Colleges Ballroom Dance Company on May 3rd, 2013, for an elegant evening of music, food, and dancing at this black-tie event. Support the Claremont Colleges Ballroom Dance Company and dance the night away while enjoying:

Seated tickets for this fundraiser are $35 and pre-sale only! This event will be held in Edmunds Ballroom at Pomona College. Event starts at 7:30pm, program at 8:45pm. Thank you for supporting the Claremont Colleges Ballroom Dance Company!

Southern California Collegiate Dancesport Conference

A Conference Promoting the Development and Sustainability of Collegiate Dancesport

The following workshops are available this coming weekend:

Friday Sessions:

  • Session 1: 9am - 10:15am (stretching/physical fitness for dancers)
  • Session 2: 10:30 - noon (Irina Domokurova and Valentin Bachvarov - "Anatomy of a Rumba Walk" and "Samba Rolls")
  • Session 3: 1:15 - 2:45 (Lorena Bravo - "Rotation in a partnership: Waltz; Tango timing" and Jonathan Atkinson - "Tango: usage of twist and position; Connection points and transitions: Waltz")
  • Session 4: 3:00 - 4:30 (Jonathan Atkinson - "Leading and Following Heel Turns: Foxtrot; Foxtrot 101" and Lorena Bravo - "Pivots; Sway in Quickstep")
  • Session 5: 7pm-8pm (Daniel Herzog - Casino Rueda Salsa)
  • Session 6: 8pm-9pm (First Timer, Beg, Int, and Advanced Salsa Workshops featuring Daniel Herzog and CCBDC Featured Dancers)
  • Session 7: 9pm-12am Salsa Party!

Saturday Sessions:

  • Session 1: 9am - 10:15am (stretching/physical fitness for dancers)
  • Session 2: 10:30 - noon (Ray Backlund - Paso Doble)
  • Session 3: 1:15 - 2:45 (Erik Cyr - "Cha Cha Rhythms" and Jerry More - Standard Workshop)
  • Session 4: 3:00 - 4:30 (Erik Cyr - "Competitive Jive Figures" and Jerry More - Standard Workshop)
  • Session 5: 7pm-8pm TBA
  • Session 6: 8pm-9pm TBA
  • Session 7: 8pm-12am Fun Competition and Closing Social Dance Party

If you are interested in joining the conversation about the collegiate dancesport circuit, please join us for a conversation with Shawn Fisher of American Dancer (and organizer of the National Collegiate Dancesport Championship) Friday and Saturday night from 5pm-7pm.
